Truck drivers across Australia are being urged to make a big haul to help children living with diabetes and sign-up for the ‘Convoy for Kids’ in Perth on Sunday July 26 – with registrations now open.

Hundreds of trucks are expected to weave through Perth streets to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in support of juvenile diabetes and help in the search for a cure.

With police escort, trucks will travel from the Coles Distribution Centre in Kewdale to the City’s Langley Park for the cause.

“The small registration fee will bring huge rewards in awareness of juvenile diabetes and help find a cure – we hope that all drivers who are available to make it along will do so and come together for children living with diabetes.”

The Convoy is a partnership event sponsored by Transport Forum WA, The Coles Group and the Truck & Trailer Show with all registration fees of $35 donated to the JDRF. The $35 registration fee will also gain you and any children traveling with you free entry into the 2009 Perth Truck & Trailer Show.

“We’re aiming to get 400 trucks on board this year, and we know from previous years this is a fantastic event and a great opportunity to bring your family along to enjoy the day and rally for the cause.”
