New local band ONE ISLAND EAST is playing at the South Street Ale House this Sunday July 26, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, free entry. Their jazzy reggae and latino roots flavour is spreading fast around Perth and Fremantle, earning them a Friday night residency at the Lama Bar in Subiaco. With a mix of originals and creative covers, these newcomers are the perfect complement to a laid back Sunday afternoon.

Named after the Indonesian island of Lombok, the band member’s backgrounds come from the Philippines, Samoa, Singapore and Burma. Fusing a mix of cultural and musical styles to create their unique sound; their easy-listening rhythms promise something for everyone, as they entertain audiences with an island vibe.

They attribute much of their success to the Fremantle music scene, for giving them the opportunity to perform when they first started. With their first album on the horizon later this year, don’t miss this free show. South Street Ale House, 277 South Street, Hilton.
